The Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium is a compulsory visit. Situated in the harbor, near the Theatre Junction it has a large variety of fish, coral and other aquatic species collection.

There is also an artificial off-shore coral reef at Kovalam. It is maintained by the Kerala government in association with the Department of Harbour Engineering.You get am amazing opportunity to try out surfing here. It is also aimed at enhancing eco tourism.

Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple is the core of the capital city. This ancient temple is an abode of Lord Vishnu. But only Hindus are allowed into the temple. But having a look att he large temple pond and architecture is worth it. The shopping street and the fragrance of sandal and jasmine drive tourist to this lane!
